TEXAS NATIONAL GUARD TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TXNG-TAP)
Who can apply for an award?
You are eligible to apply for funds through the Texas National Guard Tuition Assistance Program if you are a member, in good standing, of the Texas National Guard. This includes the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, and the State Guard. See application packet for details.
How much can I receive?
The amount of tuition assistance will be based on several factors. Tuition assistance will not exceed 12 semester hours per individual for any given semester/quarter/term. Funding does not cover fees. The Adjutant General's Office of the National Guard determines each student's allotment of hours.
Why should I apply?
This program can assist you with the cost of tuition at public, private, or independent institutions of higher education. Students needing financial assistance to complete their undergraduate, graduate, vocational, or technical course of study should consider applying for this program.
When can I apply?
Applications are currently being accepted. The application deadline for Fall is June 15. The application deadline for Spring is November 15. Applications can be obtained through the student's Unit Commander or the Education Services Office.

Source/Allocation of Funds
Funds are appropriated by the State Legislature. Students submit applications to the Adjutant General's Office. Submission of an application to the Adjutant General's Office does not guarantee an award. The amount of tuition assistance is based on several factors, including: availability of funds, number of applicants, and eligibility. Tuition assistance through this program will not exceed 12 semester hours of tuition (fees are not included) per individual for any given semester/quarter/term. |
